Reviews
November 2010
After 6 long weeks of rehearsal and shows, the Haydn has finally come to an end. We had 3 shows in the Linbury Theatre from 26th to 29th of October and it was a great success. We sang to a full house each night, it was such a shame we only had 3 nights after all the hard work. This production was an unusual situation, as not only was the cast from the Jette Parker Young Artists but our director Rodula and conductor Volker are both on the program too. From this respect if felt like the beginning of a new era of artists. There was many reviews of this production and you can see them on the reviews page.
The production was extremely demanding physically for me as my character jumped, ran and physically impersonated everything she saw for most of the opera. But underneath this there was (as always in opera) a love story. I find myself missing the work load everyday but I am now moving on to new things. On the 22nd of November you will be able to see me perform songs by Duparc, Rachmaninov and Wolf in the Linbury Theatre. It is a treat to take a small step back from opera and into the mini stories of song. It is becoming harder for singers nowadays to balance their work on the concert platform with the operatic stage. The song repertoire fascinates me and I strive to keep this balance. The tickets for this recital are available 9 days before the concert or on the morning of it. You can find the link here

After this recital I move into covering in Hansel and Gretel so it will be back to the physical antics of a child for December!!
